Bellows gate valves mainly use bellows as the valve stem sealing element. They are commonly used in applications that require strict valve stem sealing, such as high vacuum applications and nuclear industries. Using bellows instead of or in combination with the packing box on ordinary valves can prevent leakage of radioactive substances or precious metals from the valve stem, or maintain high vacuum. The bellows can expand and contract with the valve stem, and its maximum working pressure depends on the pressure resistance and fatigue strength of the bellows.
